Arabia Felix - Second Edition

Yemen's archaeological treasures tell the story of a rich pre-Islamic civilisation of international significance. This is a definitive account of the evolution of a unique and complex culture. Since its publication in Italian in 1996, this work has gained an international reputation as a valuable work of scholarship.

Dr. Tony Wilkinson from the University of Durham has brought the book up to date with an extensive review of new information.
Alessandro de Maigret - Author of Arabia Felix. Doyen of the European scholars of Near Eastern archaeology, he has been Director since 1980 of the Italian archaeological mission ISMEO in Yemen, where his discoveries have helped reconstruct the prehistory and pre-Islamic history of that country. He is a Professor of Near Eastern Archaeology at the Instituto Universitario Orientale of Naples.

Dr. Tony Wilkinson - Tony Wilkinson trained as a geographer at the University of London and then at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario. From there he moved into archaeology where he worked on regional landscape projects in the UK and the Middle East. Somewhat perversely he then specialized in landscapes of dry lands and landscapes submerged beneath the sea. His book Archaeological Landscapes of the Near East (University of Arizona Press) received the Book Prize of the Society for American Archaeology (2004), and the Wiseman Book Award of the Archaeological Institute of America (2005). He is a Fellow of the British Academy and is on the staff of Durham University.
